A sophisticated bakery e-commerce website featuring handmade baked goods, online ordering with Stripe integration, and seamless customer communication through Formspree.

My colleague Brook needed a website for her bakery business with e-commerce functionality. She was originally using Baksey but wanted something more customized to better represent her brand and provide a more professional online presence for her customers.
My specific role in this project was to be a web designer and full-stack developer. I designed the website, coded it, and implemented the API calls to Stripe and Formspree for payment processing and customer communication.
The tech stack for this project was Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and React for the frontend development, with Stripe integration for payment processing and Formspree for contact form handling.
The main challenge I had with this web tool was implementing the Stripe API. There are a lot of hoops to jump through for setting up a new account, and it required a lot of client involvement to get the business verification and banking information properly configured.
The result was a fully functional e-commerce bakery website that provides Brook with a professional online presence, seamless payment processing through Stripe, and effective customer communication through Formspree. The custom design better represents her brand compared to the generic Baksey platform she was using before.
This was the first project I've made with Stripe integration, which provided valuable experience in payment processing, API integration, and working with third-party services. It also taught me the importance of clear communication with clients during the setup process for services that require business verification.
