My senior project at ASU - a recipe database website featuring some of my mom's favorite recipes. Built with modern web technologies and deployed for easy access to family cooking traditions.

This was my senior project at ASU. This project was a huge milestone for me. The purpose of this project was to put everything I've learned at school into a project. This project is a small database of my mom's recipes.
My specific role in this project was to be a web designer and full-stack developer. I designed it, coded it, and got the recipes from my mom.
At the time of this project I was interning at Domain Driven Solutions, at that internship they taught me how to use React, Next.js, and Tailwind. This project was built with that tech stack. The components really helped when making the recipe cards.
The main challenge on this tool was building the recipe scaler. I did not want to pay for an API because this project is only deployed for portfolio purposes, so I built it from scratch.
The result of this project was a fully functional recipe database that showcases my mom's cooking traditions in a modern, accessible format. It successfully demonstrates my ability to build complex features like recipe scaling from scratch, and serves as a meaningful capstone project that combines technical skills with personal family heritage.
This project was a huge milestone that allowed me to apply everything I learned at ASU into one comprehensive project. I gained hands-on experience with React components, Next.js routing, and Tailwind styling through my internship at Domain Driven Solutions. Building the recipe scaler from scratch taught me the importance of understanding the underlying logic rather than relying on external APIs, and working with my mom's recipes made this project personally meaningful while demonstrating my technical capabilities.
